The U.S. House of Representatives has announced the launch of the fourth annual “Congressional App Challenge” (CAC) designed to encourage all students nationwide to use their creativity to inspire new apps for a mobile, tablet or computer devices in the Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Academic Challenge.  

The CAC is now open to all students in New York’s 8th Congressional District. Students participating must submit their app source code by 12:00 PM Eastern Time on Friday, November 1st. Included should be a YouTube/Vimeo video explaining the app itself and what they learned through this competition.

Congressional App Challenge Rules:

  1. The Challenge is open to all students who reside in the 8th District OR attend a middle or high school in the 8th District. 
  2. Students can compete individually or in teams of up to four.
  3. All programming languages and/or platforms are welcome.

How do I Enter?

To enter, students must create an account and register at  www.congressionalappchallenge.us during the Competition Submission Period. All entries must be original in concept, design, and execution. Additionally, students may submit entries that are conceptual and do not have a working program.
