SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Deputy Secretary Brian Montgomery will be in Sheboygan Thursday for a 2 PM tour of the Sheboygan Opportunity Zone.  The Secretary will meet with Sheboygan Mayor Michael Vandersteen and Congressman Glenn Grothman at the Badger State Lofts apartments that occupy a former tannery building at 11th and Maryland Avenue.

That project serves as the focal point of the Sheboygan Economic Development Corporation’s Innovation District.  SCEDC Chair Gary Dulmes will be on hand to outline the district and apartment project, tagged as an affordable housing development that’s hoped will be a magnet for workers in a revitalized downtown.
