Spending Cuts and Debt
The average American’s share of the national debt is around $57,000 and growing. The more than $18 trillion debt concerns me more and more each day. National security, transportation and infrastructure and all the national priorities most important to Americans are compromised as long as the federal budget is unbalanced.
It is critical for Congress to lead the way toward a balanced budget, and I am committed to supporting policies that control federal spending and restore budget integrity.

Washington, DC – Congressman Garret Graves (R-LA) recently introduced the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Reform Act of 2017 to require the program to do more to connect the unemployed with existing job placement and job training opportunities so that more people who are able to work can. Graves introduced the bill to fight poverty, support families and promote self-sufficiency while helping stem the tide of government dependence.

The two discuss how some health insurers force customers to pay a premium on some prescription drugs - charging customers more than the actual cost of the medicine.
