MIAMI, FL ­­–– Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) released the following statement after Miami-Dade County was awarded a $99.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to be used for the South Corridor Rapid Transit Project included in the SMART Plan. Diaz-Balart serves as the Ranking Member of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Subcommittee, and has diligently fought for federal dollars for Southern Florida throughout his nine terms in Congress.

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart released the following statement after the Trump Administration announced that the Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will grant $891 million in federal funding for 12 transit infrastructure projects nationwide. Among the 12 projects, is Miami-Dade County’s South Corridor Rapid Transit Project. These funds come from the Capital Investment Grant program, which is an account under Congressman Diaz-Balart’s THUD jurisdiction, and one that he has continuously delivered federal funds for.

WASHINGTON ­­– On Monday, March 25, Florida Representatives Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25) and Frederica Wilson (FL-24) hosted a meeting with victims of the defective Chinese Drywall and their attorneys to discuss their decade-long battle with these negligent Chinese companies. This event was held as a bipartisan effort following a letter recently signed by various members of the Florida delegation, including Senator Rubio, which urges the Administration to take the necessary measures against these Chinese companies.
