Presidential Greetings

The White House Greetings Office handles as many requests as possible, in accordance with a set of long-standing guidelines.Please review these guidelines carefully before sending your requests.

U.S. CITIZENS ONLY. The White House will send greetings to United States citizens only, for special occasions as outlined below.

BABY:
- Adoption of Child (Please note: This type of greeting can only be requested after the event, and must be requested within two months after the event date.)

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS:
- 80+ years (Please note that a minimum of six weeks notice (prior to the event date) is required for processing this type of request. - 70+ years VETERANS ONLY (Please note that a minimum of six weeks notice (prior to the event date) is required for processing this type of request. RETIREMENT: 30+ YEARS 25 YEARS AND EVERY 5 YEARS THEREAFTER (Please note that a minimum of six weeks notice (prior to the event date) is required for processing this type of request. Military retirement letter requests for service members with 30+ years of service are processed and forwarded to the White House by their cognizant service representative. Military service members retiring with 20 - 29 years of service automatically receive a Certificate of Appreciation signed by the President as part of their retirement package.)

SERIOUS ILLNESS
