Last week, the Supreme Court’s landmark decision rejected the Trump administration’s repeal of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decision to allow President Trump to temporarily enforce his “Remain in Mexico” policy while the case proceeds. Last month, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the President’s policy.

Recently, my office assisted a constituent from Yorba Linda who contacted my office regarding the interview process for his wife’s immigrant visa application after being unable to successfully do so in several previous attempts. My office contacted the United States Embassy and was able to acquire a new link process through which my constituent was able to successfully obtain the obtainment for his wife’s interview with the embassy. When my constituent further had trouble scheduling a biometrics appointment, we were able to inquire the embassy to direct our constituent to the appropriate procedure to directly schedule the prerequisite biometrics appointment.

My office was able to successfully assist a constituent from Fullerton with expediting her son’s immigrant visa petition who currently resides in Sri Lanka. Due to the humanitarian concerns with bombings and threats in the region, the constituent has asked my office to assist her with expediting the application. My office was then able to submit an inquiry to the USCIS, allowing my constituent to obtain the information that her request will be processed over the next few business days. We were also effectively able to serve as a point of contact through the process.

My office recently assisted a constituent from Walnut with obtaining an appointment for her global entry application. She filed her application earlier this year but had yet to receive any update since then. After my office submitted an inquiry to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, she was able to obtain her appointment.

Recently, my office assisted a constituent from Yorba Linda with his permanent residency petition for his wife, who is originally from Canada. They married in 2017, but the petition was delayed due to the change of her maiden name. After years of delay, the constituent reached out to my office for assistance. After my office submitted an inquiry and provided the relevant documentation to the National Visa Center, his wife will be able to schedule an appointment with the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal, Canada in the next three weeks.

My office recently assisted a constituent from Chino Hills with obtaining a 180-day extension for his employment authorization document (EAD). His EAD would have expired on February 28, 2019, which would prohibit him from continuing his employment in the United States. His son is currently attending preschool, and his wife’s income alone is insufficient to meet his family’s necessary expenses; therefore, losing his job would have resulted in severe financial hardship. After my office submitted an inquiry and an expedited request to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, he was able to obtain an extension on his EAD and his green card.

Recently, my office assisted a constituent from Fullerton with obtaining his employment authorization document (EAD). His EAD was approved in January, but he had yet to receive his EAD after waiting for one month. After my office submitted an inquiry and provided the relevant documentation to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, a new card was produced and delivered to the constituent within a week.
