Internships

Three interns from the Spring 2019 season.

To maintain the safety and health of everyone due to COVID-19, the internship program is suspended until further notice. Please check back at a later date.

Overview

Internships provide an opportunity for current college students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a Congressional Office and learn more about the legislative process. Interns can expect to learn about the legislative process and the functions of a congressional office. The hours can accomodate the students' course schedule, but generally run from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.

We offer full and part-time, semester-long internships in our Washington D.C., Wilson, and Durham offices. Although internships are unpaid, interns will gain valuable hands-on experience and can receive academic credit.
