Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) voted for the conference report to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2018. The NDAA authorizes America’s national defense programs and passed the House 356-70. This conference report resolves differences between the two different NDAA versions that passed the House and Senate earlier this year. Once the House and Senate both pass the conference report, it will go to the White House for the President’s signature.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) attended the White House ceremony awarding Huntsville veteran Army Captain Gary Michael Rose (retired) with the Congressional Medal of Honor. Rose received the Medal of Honor, the most prestigious military award a service member can receive, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving as a medic with the secret Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group that conducted classified missions in Vietnam and Laos.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) Wednesday voted in favor of House Armed Services Committee passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2018, clearing the way for full House consideration of the bill.  The NDAA creates America’s national security policy.  The FY18 NDAA authorizes $631.5 billion for the Department of Defense base budget and $64.6 billion for Overseas Contingency Operations, for a total of $696.1 billion, a $62 billion increase in national security funding versus FY 2017.
