Presidential Inauguration Tickets

The President and Vice President of the United States will be sworn into office during the 59th Presidential Inauguration on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. This inauguration ceremony will be held on the west front of the U.S. Capitol and managed by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC).

This year’s ceremony will be uniquely affected by the current public health crisis. Currently, we are not taking requests for presidential inauguration tickets. We are accepting contact information so we can alert you about presidential inauguration tickets, should they become available. The form below is to request information about how to apply to request inauguration tickets.

Please carefully read the following information in order to register your interest in attending the 59th Presidential Inauguration.

  1. Read the “Preliminary Points” section of this Form.
  2. Fill out the Presidential Inauguration Tickets Information Form.
  3. Submit the Form to the D.C. Office of Congresswoman Karen Bass (CA-37) as directed.

Preliminary Points

  • The JCCIC will not inform Members of Congress what/how many viewing area tickets they will be provided until after the presidential election occurring on November 3, 2020. The Office of Congresswoman Karen Bass will not grant requests for inauguration tickets until the JCCIC has made its announcement to Members of Congress regarding what the Members will be getting. This is not the best situation for reserving hotel rooms in greater Washington, DC for the night before and the night of the presidential inauguration, a heavily attended event. Ticket requesters are required nonetheless to contingency-plan accordingly on their own.
  • Attending a presidential inauguration is a physical activity and a bit of an endurance (and patience) test. Crowds are large; lines are long; roadways into D.C. and the Capitol area are congested or closed; the Washington Metro subway system features long wait times due to crowds; standing areas for the inauguration ceremony are very crowded even though they are ticketed; arriving at a viewing area at least a couple of hours early is a necessity to do an adequate job of “ensuring” that one gets in; and Washington can be cold in January.
  • Coronavirus restrictions in Washington, D.C. are determined by the government of the District of Columbia. Please monitor coronavirus.dc.gov for the most up-to-date-information on health and safety requirements for visitors.
  • Ticket requests from persons who are not residents of the 37th Congressional District of California may not be answered.
  • Ticket requests that do not include a fully filled-out Information Form may not be answered.
