Here is a compilation of resources that may be useful to you and your neighbors. Remember, my office is here to help, so please don’t hesitate to give my office a call at (972) 972-7949. If you are in a dangerous situation or facing an emergency please call 9-1-1. 

Resources 

Shelter:

• There is a shelter open at Bachman Recreation Center 2750 Bachman Drive in Dallas, Texas.

• Garland Central Library, located at 625 Austin Street in Garland, Texas, is open for those who need to charge their devices or need internet access.

Power and Gas:

• Oncor: You can call Oncor at 888-313-4747 to report downed lines that are not sparking, or for questions about power restoration. View an outage map here: https://stormcenter.oncor.com/external/default.html.

• Garland Power and Light: If you are without power and have not reported your outage to GP&L, please call (972) 205-3000, or text OUT to (972) 205-4000. View an outage map here: https://www.gpltexas.org/outage-center/gp-l-power-outage-map. 

• Atmos Energy: Report storm damage or suspected natural gas leaks to (866) 322- 8667.

Reporting Non-Life-Threatening Damage: A few key numbers to call for areas that experienced damage or excessive rain. 

• Dallas: Report downed trees, power lines and flooding: 3-1-1. 

• Garland: Report non-life threatening damage to the Garland police department non-emergency number: (972) 485-4840.

• Richardson: Report downed trees or other damage to the city’s non-emergency 24-hour response line: (972) 744-4111.

• University Park: (214) 363-3000

• Highland Park: (214) 521-5000

• Rowlett: (972) 412-6200, then press option 1.

• The North Dallas Government Center at 10056 Marsh Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229 has been closed until further notice due to tornado damage from the inclement weather last night.

• Remember, if you are evacuated, only return when it is safe to do so.
