How We Hire

Application Process

Due to the volume of applicants received, only qualified candidates selected to advance will be contacted to schedule a phone interview after the vacancy posting has closed.

Interview Preparation

Invest time in preparing for the interview process. Research the organization, prepare questions, provide a resume and portfolio examples (if relevant), and sharpen interview skills through practice responses.

Interview Process

Please note that the interview process will vary depending on the position:

  • Phone Interview: Applicants should expect a conversation with one of our recruiters to learn more about them, their experience and how that ties into the vacancy posting. This is an opportunity for applicants to engage with our recruiters and learn more about the organization.
  • In-Person Interview: Qualified applicants undergo one to two rounds of in-person interviews. These interviews help hiring managers evaluate an applicant’s ability to be a successful employee at the CAO, and allow applicants an opportunity to meet potential colleagues and gauge the workplace atmosphere.
  • Assessment: Some positions require an assessment to gauge position-related fundamental skills and knowledge requirements.

Job Offer

Successful candidates are extended a tentative job offer. After acceptance and appropriate approval is issued, the candidate is then extended a formal job offer predicated on a successful background check. New employees must then complete the CAO’s New Employee Orientation.
