Ecstatic to see the progress made by this incredible young man! Nominating terrific young adults to our service academies is among the most rewarding jobs I have as the Representative of Virginia's First District. I look forward to following Bailey and all of our wonderful service academy nominees careers as they serve this great nation.

Our Midshipman Spotlight for today is M/N Bailey McAleese from Stafford, VA. Nominated to #USMMA by Rep. Rob Wittman, M/N McAleese is a Maritime Logistics and S...ecurity major. He has been on the Cross Country and Track team for all 4 years at #kingspoint. He traveled to the Far East on the APL President Cleveland during his first Sea Year training period. During his second sailing, he was on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) on deployment and the Safmarine Mafadi on a Northern Europe run. His internship was at the US Army Airborne School. After graduation, M/N McAleese plans to serve on active duty in the Navy.

I want to send a Congratulations to all of the new Members who will be joining the halls of Congress in the 117th Congress, with a special ‘Congrats’ to the historic freshman class of Republicans.

Just to name a few facts about the incoming class of Republican freshmen:
➡️ Half of the freshman are either women or minorities
➡️ Young Kim and Michelle Steel will be the first Korean American women to serve in Congress...
➡️ Nancy Mace was the first female graduate of the Citadel and will now be the first Republican woman from South Carolina to serve in Congress
➡️ Yvette Herrell is the first Republican Native American woman elected to Congress
➡️ Stephanie Bice is the first Iranian American woman elected to Congress
