WASHINGTON, D.C. – The office of Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) has spent the first half of 2020 fighting in Congress and in Charlotte for the best possible response to the economic and health crises caused by COVID-19.

Since the beginning of the crisis, Rep. Adams' and her office has:

  • Responded to constituents with 10,363 letters;

  • Held 19 virtual events and 21 virtual meetings with the Congresswoman, with over 4,400 constituents in attendance;

  • Introduced 5 bills to address the COVID-19 crisis;

  • Wrote and led 15 letters to the Trump Administration, congressional leaders, and state leaders on COVID-19 issues;

  • Voted for and fought for the over $212 million in federal funding awarded to the 12th Congressional District for COVID-19 relief efforts;

  • Cosponsored 32 bills to respond to COVID-19 and restore our economy;

  • Cosigned 98 Congressional letters to the Trump Administration, congressional leaders, and other officials on COVID-19 issues.

“This is why we serve in Congress,” said Congresswoman Adams. “My staff and I have worked tirelessly for a whole-of-government response to this unprecedented crisis. Members of Team Adams in Washington and Charlotte have worked countless hours to connect constituents with the resources they need to weather the storm. I introduced and cosponsored legislation to help our economy recover and put financial assistance directly in the hands of North Carolinians. We still have a long way to go to recover from this crisis, but know that I am fighting every day to help Charlotte and Mecklenburg County residents recover."
