California’s 44th Congressional District includes the communities of Carson, Compton, Florence-Firestone, Lynwood, North Long Beach, Rancho Dominguez, San Pedro, South Gate, Walnut Park, Watts, Willowbrook and Wilmington. It spans from the Port of Los Angeles to the Watts Towers, and features some of the most vibrant business, cultural, and historic communities in Southern California.

The Port of Los Angeles – America’s Port, is a vital and critical component of California’s 44th congressional district and our nation’s economy. It is the economic engine that impacts every single congressional district in the United States. An indispensable part of our country’s economy, the port generated approximately $272 billion worth of cargo last year and supports over 3 million jobs annually.

Outside of the Port, California’s 44th district is home to numerous educational institutions, historic tourist areas, and entertainment venues. They include: The Banning Mansion Museum, StubHub Center, Watts Towers, California State University Dominguez Hills, Vincent Thomas Bridge, Compton College, Plaza Mexico, Goals Soccer Center, East Los Angeles College – South Gate Satellite Campus, Korean Friendship Bell, Ports O’ Call Village, Los Angeles River, Michelle Obama Library, Martin Luther King Monument and more.

The demographics of California’s 44th district is a reflection of the rich diversity of Southern California.
