Larsen & LaHood Meet With Tibet Delegation

WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S.-China Working Group Co-Chairs Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) and Rep. Darin LaHood (IL-18) met with Deputy to the People’s Congress of Tibet Autonomous Region BAIMAWANGDUI last week to discuss the future of the region, assistance to the region, energy development and human rights.

Following the meeting, Reps. Larsen and LaHood issued the below statement:

“The U.S.-China Working Group provides a forum for Members of Congress to have timely and open discussions with Chinese leaders. We appreciated hearing from Deputy to the People’s Congress of Tibet Autonomous Region BAIMAWANGDUI and the entire delegation on the future of Tibet, the improvement of people’s lives through clean energy development and positive changes to living conditions in the region. We look forward to continuing this dialogue on the social and economic development of Tibet.”
