Rep. Steve King - H.R.490: The Heartbeat Protection Act of 2017 (173 Cosponsors):

  • This bill would require all physicians, before conducting an abortion, to detect the heartbeat of the unborn child. If a heartbeat is detected, the baby is protected.


Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) has chaired the Conservative Opportunity Society for over a decade. Previously, the group was first formed by Newt Gingrich and others in 1983 with the purpose to promote conservative ideas.
