Congressman Lance visited the Empower Somerset and Pioneer Family Success Center in Somerville this week for the ribbon cutting of its new facility. Lance spoke of the great community spirit of the volunteers and thanked the organization for its work to combat drug addiction and for providing young people and Somerset County residents with important programming.

This week Congressman Lance toured the site of the terrible fire in Dover. Lance offered Mayor Dodd the assistance of his office's casework managers for those displaced. Lance thanked and commended the work of the first responders and cleanup crews and the outpouring of support for neighbors in need.

Congressman Lance was in Succasunna to praise Habitat for Humanity and the volunteers who will help provide homes to those in need.

Congressman Lance visited the Raritan Township Fire Company this week to announce the department has earned a $310,455 federal grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The news comes after last week’s announcement of $292,169 in federal grants for the Quakertown, Clinton and High Bridge fire departments. Lance has now secured over $ 2 million dollars in federal grants to help local departments fill staffing or procure equipment.
