Federal Publishing Council

An advisory council for the Federal publishing community

The scope of Federal publishing has expanded far beyond strictly tangible printed content and as an advisory council to the GPO, the Federal Publishing Council will continue to focus and build upon the established goals of the ICPPS established in 1976.

The Federal Publishing Council will continue to:

  • develop recommendations designed to enhance efforts of Federal organizations and the GPO to provide the most efficient, effective, and economical publishing services possible.
  • propose new printing and publishing policy.
  • provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and the examination of mutual concerns among Federal printing and publishing representatives.
  • foster knowledge-sharing opportunities and disseminate information relating to training, new technologies, and best practices in Federal publishing.

The Federal Publishing Council is only open to government employees and seeks members from all facets of the Federal publishing community to include professionals in:

  • Content generation, including editorial, copywriting, and proofreading
  • Web content management
  • Printing production, planning, and procurement
  • Graphic artists, designers, and illustrators
  • Publishing promotions
  • Digital media development
  • Publication dissemination
