Building: House Office Buildings
The Cannon House Office Building has not received a comprehensive systems upgrade since the 1930s, and many of the building's systems are original – dating back to 1908 or earlier. These systems are past the end of their useful lives and the increasing risk of their failure jeopardizes the building's long-term functionality and safety. Other necessary work includes upgrading infrastructure systems andrepairing the exterior stone façade.

Building: United States Capitol
The AOC has identified areas throughout the Capitol that contain historic paint colors or decoration that need restoration. In many of these areas the plaster has cracked under the stress and weight of multiple paint layers, a result of decades of repainting wall and ceiling surfaces. These areas have been marked for paint analysis; a process that allows the AOC to record what finishes were used in the past before repairing the wall. Building: U.S. Botanic Garden
The United States Botanic Garden (USBG) and Architect of the Capitol (AOC) will restore the deteriorating stone façade and roof of the historic USBG Conservatory. Aside from a modest addition at the rear of the building, the historic Conservatory exterior remains unchanged from its 1933 appearance.

For the past 15 years, interim measures have been put in place to extend its life. Unfortunately, some areas have deteriorated to the point where interim measures are no longer an option, and parking cannot be supported.

Building: U.S. Supreme Court
Work on the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building continues with the removal and replacement of granite panels. This effort is scheduled to begin this fall and anticipated completion is expected at the end of 2019. More information on impacts related to this project will be updated to this page when available.

The Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building (TMFJB) is undergoing a renovation of the facility's parking garage. The project includes repair of water infiltration problems, replacement of interior finishes, crack repairs, a new traffic surface topping, and upgrades to the lighting and sprinkler systems.
