Announcement

Representative Randy Hultgren and Representative James P. McGovern, Co-Chairs of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, would like to alert you to a Members and staff-only film screening at E Street Cinema. Members and staff are welcome to attend a private screening of Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei’s documentary film Human Flow on Monday, September 25th at 7:00 pm.  The film will be followed by a discussion between Co-Chairs Hultgren and McGovern and Ai Weiwei.

Human Flow is “an epic film journey” documenting the plight of refugees worldwide which “gives a powerful visual expression to this massive human migration. The documentary elucidates both the staggering scale of the refugee crisis and its profoundly personal human impact. Captured over the course of an eventful year in 23 countries, the film follows a chain of urgent human stories that stretches across the globe…. Human Flow is a witness to its subjects and their desperate search for safety, shelter and justice.”

We hope you’ll join TLHRC members and staff at E Street Cinema to experience this renowned artist’s perspective on the global refugee crisis, and hear him speak in person about his deep belief in the value of human rights.
