Rep. Takano Calls for Action to Protect Community Health Centers
While Senate Republicans scramble to meet a self-imposed deadline, they are ignoring the real deadlines that have real consequences for our community. On September 25, 2017, Rep. Takano spoke on the Floor to remind his colleagues that – unless Congress takes action before September 30th – the Community Health Center program will face a 70 percent cut to its funding.
Community health centers serve more than 700,000 patients in Southern California alone. Instead of rewriting another ill-conceived health care bill, Congressional Republicans should focus on maintaining access to care for millions of people across the country.
