About

The Congressional Task Force to Combat Identity Theft and Fraud is a group of bipartisan, dedicated legislators working towards commonsense solutions to protect all Americans from hackers, scammers, thieves and fraudsters. There is no quick fix to protecting ourselves from scammers and identity theft. However, this bipartisan task force seeks to examine the scope of fraud and how best to address it with a thorough and thoughtful approach. We are committed to fighting these criminals with solutions to increase personal security for all Americans and increase the penalties and punishments for scammers and ruthless thieves. Through our bipartisan task force’s efforts we can fight for meaningful solutions.

“Scams and identity theft are increasingly complex and growing problems, and many folks in Iowa and across the country are at risk of having their identity, bank or credit card numbers, and other personal information stolen,”Congressman Young said. “Our bipartisan task force will thoroughly examine the scope of fraud and how best to address it. I am encouraged by this opportunity to work with Congresswoman Sinema in leading our colleagues in tackling such an important and widespread issue.”

“Americans lose billions of dollars each year to identity theft and financial fraud,” said Congresswoman Sinema. “We created this bipartisan task force to find real solutions that put an end to scams and fraud. By working together, we can protect Americans’ financial security.”
