WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Tom O’Halleran, a member of the House Committee on Agriculture and a conferee on the Farm Bill Conference Committee, signed the bipartisan, bicameral Farm Bill Conference Report. Once passed by the House of Representatives and Senate and signed into law, this legislation reauthorizes the Farm Bill for five years.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Reps. Ruben Gallego (AZ-07) and Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) wrote a letter to Arizona Governor Doug Ducey calling for an immediate and thorough investigation into whistleblower reports that Arizona State Parks and Trails Director Sue Black recklessly disregarded procedures designed to minimize damage to lands identified as containing protected cultural and historical sites.
The Congressmen also encouraged Gov. Ducey to request Black’s immediate resignation so as to avoid further damage to Arizona and Native American antiquities.
VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK – Yesterday, Congressman Tom O’Halleran met with Lt. Gen Todd Semonite, Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and local county and city leaders in Winslow and Flagstaff. During the meetings the stakeholders discussed the projects in the region and pressed the Army Corps of Engineers to prioritize them before these communities face devastating floods.
WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court on Monday let stand an Obama-era moratorium on new uranium mines on about 1 million acres around the Grand Canyon, declining to hear a challenge to the ban by mining groups.
The 20-year ban on new mines was imposed in 2012 by then-Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to protect the air and water around the canyon. But opponents called the move overreach by government bureaucrats who should have been subject to congressional veto.

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Tom O'Halleran (AZ-01) congratulated the Hualapai Tribe for receiving a Tribal Heritage Grant from the National Park Service. The $43,200 award will allow the tribe to preserve their cultural heritage, including traditional arts, skills, education, and ceremonies.
