VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK – This week, following pressure from Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01), the National Guard Bureau announced it has directed a permanent halt to a planned clawback of housing funds given to servicemembers stationed at Silverbell Army Heliport, and announced an increase in these funds for all eligible soldiers serving at the base.
Today, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01), whose district includes the Western Army Aviation Training Site (WAATS), called on Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Major General Michael McGuire to put an immediate stop to an impending clawback of thousands of dollars from active duty servicemembers stationed at the base.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01) introduced the Combatting Opioid Misuse Before Addiction for our Troops (COMBAT) Act with Congressman Steve Knight (CA-25) and Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-06). This bipartisan bill prevents the overprescription of opioids to active duty servicemembers, their families, and retirees who use TRICARE by requiring the Department of Defense to implement a seven day first-fill limit for opioid prescriptions.
