Statement from Congressman Dan Donovan on Historic U.S.-North Korea Summit

“The historic summit we saw last night solidifies that strong leadership surpasses strategic patience. The objectives laid out, including total denuclearization and sanctions remaining in place until nukes are removed, will promote stability and increased global security. This is the first step in a long process, and maintaining pressure on North Korea will be critical to keeping the regime honest. The journey ahead will require extreme vigilance – but as President Trump stated “peace is always worth the effort.” Every person should be rooting for continued success on this front. The President and administration have shown how tough diplomacy and unwavering resolve deliver results.”
