Economy and Jobs

I remain focused on job creation and economic growth and am working to ensure job opportunities are available to you. Our economy is presently being hampered by government regulation and taxation. I believe that, in order to stimulate growth and create new jobs, we must work to remove government barriers which take the form of high and unnecessary tax burdens, overreaching laws and regulations, and a balanced federal budget. Utah serves as a good example because it has limited government impediments and therefore experiences consistent economic growth and low unemployment rate.

I introduced, and the House passed, H.R. 3791 which raises the consolidated assests threshold for small banks in order for banks to provide more loans to individuals who wish to pursue their American dream. I also introduced H.R. 5434 - Stop Debt Collection Abuse Act of 2016 which currently sits in the House Financial Services Committee, of which I am a member.

I look forward to your feedback.

Thank you.
