The internship program is a wonderful opportunity designed to give students a chance to learn more about the legislative process and the responsibilities of a Congressional office through first-hand experience. Internships are available throughout the year in both my D.C. and 3rd District offices.

D.C. Interns’ Office Responsibilities and Opportunities
D.C. interns are responsible for giving guided Capitol tours, assisting with legislative research and constituent services, processing mail, and other duties. In addition, interns have an opportunity to observe committee hearings on a variety of issues, attend an impressive speakers' series designed for interns during the summer, and accompany staff to various receptions hosted by trade associations in Washington D.C.
3rd District Interns’ Office Responsibilities and Opportunities
3rd District interns are responsible for assisting with constituent services and casework, processing mail, conducting research, and other duties. In addition, interns have an opportunity to attend events with me and my staff in Texas.

Intern Eligibility
To be eligible, internship applicants must be current students or recent graduates of a college or university. Applications should be submitted at least six weeks prior to your anticipated start date. Texas ties are preferred.
D.C. Intern Transportation and Housing
D.C. interns are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from Washington D.C., as well as their housing. After students accept a D.C. internship offer, our office will be happy to assist with further information about housing options.
