Congressman McCarthy on the Obamacare Ruling

Congressman McCarthy released the following statement on the Obamacare ruling by a U.S. District Court in Texas:

"Obamacare is a broken law. Americans have lost their doctors and seen premiums skyrocket. Yesterday’s court decision also underscores what we have believed — it is an unconstitutional law. House Republicans acted earlier this Congress to establish a healthcare system that puts patients first. This will offer more choice, reduce costs, and put our country’s healthcare system on a sustainable path. But Democrats didn’t lift a finger to fix this problem — putting politics over people. That is not leadership and certainly not what the American people expect from their government. In fact, that is exactly what drove nearly four dozen Democrat freshman to write to their leadership and advocate for an agenda of legislating. President Trump has made clear he wants a solution and I am committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to make sure America’s healthcare system works for all Americans."
