The Central Coast knows first-hand the impact that oil spills have on the surrounding community. That’s why the first bill I Introduced was the California Clean Coast Act, to prohibit offshore oil and gas exploration in California. I will continue to be an advocate for clean energy alternatives and restrictions on harmful oil and gas drilling.

For decades, opposition to drilling has left the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge off limits. Now the Trump administration is hurriedly clearing the way for oil exploration.

“Our country and our global economy are at a turning point, and any old infrastructure plan simply will not do…While serving to spur economic growth and increase our security, a smart infrastructure plan that takes the long-view must advance serious solutions to climate change.”

Next Congress the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition will be fighting for action on climate change at every turn, and we are getting a head start by calling for any infrastructure bill we consider to be a bold, forward-thinking climate bill too.
