Casework

If you need help with a federal agency, I am happy to provide assistance and advocate for you whenever possible. In many cases, my office can contact the appropriate agency on your behalf to assure that you have been given every consideration available.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If this case involves an immigration issue, along with the privacy release below, you must fill out, print, and sign this document to obtain help from my office.

I cannot force an agency to expedite a case or act in favor of a constituent.  However, I can help communicate the circumstances and request that they take appropriate actions to assist you. If there is an emergency (i.e. an urgent passport request, an ill family member overseas, etc.) you should call my District Office closest to you for immediate assistance.

Please carefully read the following information before submitting your request:

  • If your concern is with a state or local entity, you should contact the appropriate jurisdiction for these issues. You can locate your state legislators by clicking here.

  • Please keep in mind that the United States Constitution separates power between the legislative and judicial branches of government, and elected officials cannot interfere with legal matters or cases before a court of law. In these instances, you should speak with an attorney.

  • If you do not live within the Second Congressional District of Massachusetts you should contact your own Member of Congress for assistance. Exceptions include military personnel who are away from the state while on active duty or students attending college out of state.

Please read the below guides before submitting your request to see if your question is answered:

The Privacy Act of 1974 requires that I have your written authorization before I can obtain any information about you from a federal agency. While a friend or family member can contact my office on your behalf, the privacy release form at the bottom of this page must be completed, printed, and signed by the individual needing the assistance. Please mail it to my district office that is located closest to you. On all correspondence sent to me, please include your contact information so that my staff can be as responsive as possible. All information provided will remain confidential. Click here to read my office's privacy policy.
