CBC Health Braintrust Chair Dr. Robin Kelly on Passage of 21st Century Cures Act

U.S. Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL), chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, today issued the following statement upon passage of H.R. 34, "21st Century Cures Act

“I am glad that Congress was able to come together in a bipartisan way to get the 21st Century Cures Act passed before the 114th Congress concludes. 

As Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, I’ve made it a core mission of mine to see to it that Congress passes innovative and inclusive health legislation.  This bill meets that standard, and not only makes key funding investments in Alzheimers research, the National Institutes of Health, and Vice President’s Cancer Moonshot, but boosts the innovation of healthcare supports available to consumers, and facilitates the diversification of clinical trials in medical research.  These investments in scientific and medical innovation are the crux of achieving health equity. The 21st Century Cures Act is timely, critical, and will benefit individuals, families, and our nation for generations.”
