About

The Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys was founded in January 2013 to expose issues and foster action from Congress and the public on pressing matters that disproportionately affect Black men and boys.  The Caucus stimulates ideas and efforts to improve the quality of life for Black men and boys throughout the United States through legislative and other action as well as community engagement.  The Caucus also serves as a clearing house to encourage communities to work on these important issues.

The Caucus engages in a variety of activities, including holding public events to stimulate action and sharing initiatives and special projects that have been successful in benefiting African American males.  We encourage the formation of councils or commissions in local communities to conduct community forums that can produce action on issues disproportionately affecting African American males.

The Caucus helps bring together the stakeholders of all races and backgrounds to help resolve the issues that surround African American males.  We believe that that the future of the African American community is tied to collective efforts to improve life outcomes for African American males, and especially their children, so that Black men and women together can help ensure a larger and more stable African American middle class.
