I just signed onto the discharge petition that would force the House to vote on legislation to preserve Net Neutrality. I will continue to stand for a free and open internet, and I hope more of my colleagues will do the same.

Since her election to Congress 11 years ago, Niki Tsongas, widow of Senator Paul Tsongas, staked out her own turf.

“As Massachusetts residents count our blessings as this 50th anniversary year of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act winds down, we celebrate the protection the act has brought to three of our state’s most outstanding rivers. However, as we look forward to what lies ahead in the new year, we should re-dedicate ourselves to continuing efforts to gain the Nashua River the protection it needs and deserves.”

I couldn’t agree more, Julia! My bill, the Nashua River Wild & Scenic River Act, would designate the river and two of its tributaries, the Squannacook and Nissitissit Rivers, as components of the national Wild & Scenic Rivers System – a designation that will help preserve and protect the historic waterways and make them eligible to receive federal funding for further conservation efforts.

It's time to add the Nashua River to the Wild and Scenic River System.
