This week, I reported to the floor of the House of Representatives and voted to respect the U.S. economy and keep the U.S. government open.
Our president is willing to hurt working families for his own vanity. He promised a wall and he promised the American people that they will not have to pay for it, and now he is trying to shut down the U.S. government if he doesn’t get to spend five billion American tax-payer dollars to build his wall.
We deserve better from the President than to hold American families and the economy hostage for political gain, especially this time of year. For my part, I will keep fighting to protect American families in the days to come.
Congratulations to Van Nuys Airport (VNY) as they celebrate 90 Years of Flight. Van Nuys Airport is the largest economic engine in the San Fernando Valley. It’s also a cornerstone of the community — VNY served as a staging area for firefighters during one of the deadliest wildfire seasons in the history of this country, and pilots and firefighters based there worked long hours keeping Californians safe. A world leader in environmental responsibility as well as community safety, Van Nuys Airport is one of only five general aviation airports anywhere to gain a Carbon Emissions Reduction Accreditation. I would like to commend the owners, operators, tenants, airport staff, and every person in the San Fernando Valley community that has helped make the Van Nuys Airport a global leader in service, safety and responsibility.
