Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH) released the following statement regarding the tax and oversight package that includes the Retirement, Savings, and Other Tax Relief Act of 2018 and the Taxpayer First Act of 2018.

"I am pleased that Chairman Brady introduced a tax package last night that includes many provisions that I have championed over the last several years. This legislation is expected to be voted on by the full House of Representatives later this week. Included in this bill are provisions that I have introduced that will help more workers gain access to retirement plans through their employer and also reforms to the IRS to assist Americans impacted by identity fraud.

I am also encouraged to see that this legislation includes small, technical changes to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Since hearing from restaurant owners in the district how a small glitch in the tax bill could potentially impact their business, I fought for a common-sense fix which I am pleased to see in this bill.

This bill is a win for Ohioans and it is my hope that the House and Senate can quickly send this bill to the President’s desk."
