Labor Statistics Improvement Act of 2015

This bill would create a commission to study and improve how the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) derives its unemployment figures. “It is essential that our policymakers, employers, workers, and job seekers have accurate data about the job market.  While President Obama has made phenomenal progress on job creation, experts from across the spectrum recognize that the current unemployment rate does not match the situation for workers and jobless Americans,” said Rep. Conyers.  “This bill will help ensure that the reality faced by Americans is truly reflected in our unemployment measures."
