Transportation & Infrastructure
We need to rebuild America – beginning with our entire transportation infrastructure. Experts tell us we need to invest $1 trillion to rebuild our crumbling transportation system – and in the process create some 13 million new good paying middle class jobs in construction, and throughout our economy.
As Minnesota’s only member of the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure, I continue to work on a bipartisan basis to advance a comprehensive, long-term transportation plan with new sources of funding to rebuild our highways, roads, bridges, airports, harbors, railroads, mass transit systems and pipelines. Our ability to grow our 21st Century economy and successfully compete in the global marketplace depends on the progress we make in achieving these goals.

Dear Friend,
WASHINGTON– U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, and Representative Rick Nolan announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded Cooperative Light and Power Association of Lake County a loan of $5,670,000 for infrastructure improvements.
“This investment will strengthen the Northland’s economy for years to come,” Klobuchar said. “Projects like this not only boost the economy, but also support good-paying jobs and maintain the services Minnesotans rely on.”

Project is vital to our national economy and our national security – and a major win for Minnesota miners, businesses, and farmers whose products move through the Great Lakes chain to manufacturers and suppliers all the way up the St. Lawrence Seaway.
