WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mark Amodei’s (NV-02) Nevada Lands Bill Technical Corrections Act of 2018 (H.R. 6299) unanimously passed out of the House of Representatives today. This legislation will modify existing public lands bills to boost economic growth and development across Nevada while paying respect to environmental concerns.

“This legislation is a win-win for Nevadans,” said Congressman Amodei. “The measures included in this bill will create long-term economic prosperity and strengthen Nevada’s conservation efforts by responsibly authorizing land development and restoration projects. I would like to acknowledge and thank my colleagues on the House Natural Resources Committee for making this a priority and moving it through the House. I’m pleased to see this legislation advance with unanimous, bipartisan support and will continue working for common-sense policies that give businesses in Nevada increased opportunities for growth and success.”

Background:

H.R. 6299, the Nevada Lands Bill Technical Corrections Act of 2018, would modify the process of the Secretary of the Interior to:

  • Provide a technical correction to facilitate previously authorized land transfers in Storey County;
  • Authorize hazardous fuel reduction projects and wildfire planning for restoration projects in Lincoln County; and
  • Fully implement the White Pine County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act.
