Amodei Announces New Zip Code Designation For TRI, A Move to Streamline Postal Correspondence and Promote Economic Development

VIRGINIA CITY, Nev.– Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-02) today released the following statement after informing the Storey County Commissioners his office was successful in securing a unique zip code for the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRI), the largest industrial center in the world by square miles that is home to more than 100 companies’ warehouse-logistics and fulfillment centers. Due to rapid growth and development in Storey County, a new zip code designation for TRI was necessary to streamline United States Postal Service (USPS) correspondence for businesses and residents in the area.

“TRI’s new zip code is an achievement that has been years in the making,” said Congressman Amodei. “I commend local officials in Storey County for working alongside my office these last five years to arrive at a favorable outcome for both residents and business owners in the area. I would also like to extend recognition to my colleague, Congressman Mark Meadows (NC-11), for working with me to get this done for Nevadans. Securing a unique zip code for one of Nevada’s core drivers of economic development is an effective solution that allows Storey County residents to keep their current zip code while balancing the unique challenges we face here in the West with opportunities for economic growth and expansion.”
