Tours and Tickets

All tickets are provided to my constituents on a first come, first serve basis. Due to a large number of visitors, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances. For information on sightseeing and attractions, please visit my Washington, DC Tourism Information page.

In the lead up to and during the Cherry Blossom season, which typically spans from mid-to-late March to the end of April, securing tours is increasingly difficult and tickets are less likely to be available. My staff will strive to do what it can, but please be aware of the increased difficulty and plan accordingly.

White House:

White House tours are scheduled from 7:00 AM through 1:30 PM, Tuesday-Saturday.  Unfortunately, the White House does not allow you to specify tour times. You must be available the entire day of your tour request. You can request a tour up to 3 months in advance and must place your request at least 21 days in advance.  Each request can include up to 3 dates in order of priority.

You will receive an email directly from the White House once I have confirmed your information. In this email, the White House will request the pertinent information to place the request on your behalf. You will have 7 full business days to provide this information before you will have to begin the process over again. The information the White House will request by email is the following:

First, Middle, Last Name
DOB
SSN (For those 18 and older)
Citizenship
Country of Birth
Current Residence

Once all of the information has been provided to the White House tour system you will be notified that the request has been completed. The White House will then contact you, 2 weeks prior to your tour date, notifying you if your tour has been accepted or denied.

Please keep in mind that because all 535 Congressional offices can request these tours up to 3 months in advance, it is never certain that a tour request will be accommodated. Tours are also subject to last minute cancellations due to changes in the official White House schedule.

Smithsonian:

The Smithsonian has recently announced changes in the procedure to obtain passes for entry to the African American History and Culture Museum.

- The museum will no longer distribute same-day, in-person passes at 9:15 a.m. daily.
- A limited number of walk-up passes will be available starting at 1 p.m. on weekdays.
- No walk-up passes will be available on weekends due to high visitation.
- Same-day, online, timed passes will be available only through the museum’s website, nmaahc.si.edu beginning at 6:30 a.m. daily.
- Non-commercial group visits of 10 or more, including student groups, will now be available for scheduling up to one year in advance by visiting nmaahc.si.edu/groups.

What are these options?
This is to help the constituents that are hard of hearing or use a video phone alert us to that fact so we can use the proper technology when we need to call them. The default option “Voice” is a normal audible telephone.
