    This week, I met with Tara Plybon of Taylor, TX to discuss caregiver support provisions in the VA Mission Act. Tara serves as a Fellow at the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, advocating to empower caregivers across the country. Tara is the caregiver to her husband, a wounded veteran.

    Texas continues to show that lowering taxes and investing in our workforce is the key to creating jobs. Texas’ unemployment rate fell to 3.7 percent in October; lowest in the state since they began keeping track in 1976. Good news for Texas workers!

    The poppy is a big part of & WWI history. Last weekend, I paid my respects & placed 3 red poppies from Georgetown at the memorial of one of the last Americans to give their life in WWI. Walter Lang was KIA on the day the armistice was signed, November 11, 1918.
