Vice Chair House Democratic Caucus: Congressman Sánchez was elected by her colleagues to serve as the Vice Chair for the House Democratic Caucus – the fifth-highest ranking position in House Democratic Leadership. In this leadership position, she is focused on strengthening the American Dream for men and women all across the country. Congresswoman Sánchez is the first Latina elected to a leadership position in the U.S. Congress, and the highest-ranking Latino in the House of Representatives.

Senior Democratic Whip: Congresswoman Sánchez serves as a Senior Whip for the Democratic Caucus. As a Senior Whip, Congresswoman Sánchez works with the Senior Whip team on a strategy to address key issues facing the country and then works with other members of the Caucus on upcoming legislation.

Ways and Means Committee: Congresswoman Sánchez serves on the powerful and prestigious House Committee on Ways and Means. The House Committee on Ways and Means is the chief tax-writing committee in Congress and also plays a critical role in federal legislation on trade, Social Security, and Medicare.
