I am proud to represent more than 120,000 veterans in Florida’s Third District. We need to roll out the red carpet for our veterans, because they deserve the very best.
We need to keep our promise to our veterans by making sure they have access to the healthcare they need. I do not support changes to TRICARE that would result in a decrease in services, including new enrollment fees.
The best way we can honor the sacrifices made by our veterans is by governing responsibly. We must stop harming our national security by adding to our national debt. The more we owe to other nations, the more vulnerable we are as a free people. Our veterans remind us how precious that freedom is.

Last week, three North Florida Republican congressmen--U.S. Reps. Neal Dunn, John Rutherford and Ted Yoho--toured VA hospitals in Lake City and Gainesville and weighed in on what they found on Tuesday.
The congressmen visited Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville where they met with North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System Director Thomas Wisnieski and his team, met with medical staff and veterans and toured the various clinics. They also headed north to Lake City where they visited the Lake City Commerce VA Clinic and the Lake City VA Medical Center.

The crowd gave a standing ovation on Sunday as American Legion Post 16 Vice Commander Travis Harvey handed World War II veteran Bob Gasche a handcrafted eagle-head cane made by the Indian River Woodcarvers Club in honor of his service.
Gashe, who was wounded on Iwo Jima, is the 272nd Purple Heart recipient to receive such a cane. The honor came during the Purple Heart Day Ceremony in the Freedom Community Center at the Veterans Memorial Park in Gainesville.
“The Korean people will never forget the help and friendship you showed to us,” the ambassador said during the ceremony.
STARKE — A Monday ceremony at Camp Blanding wasn’t the first at which 85-year-old Ken Sassaman was honored for his service in the Korean War. But, he said, this one was special because of the person who recognized him.

Korean Ambassador Cho Yoon-je honored local Korean War veterans today at a ceremony this afternoon held at the Korean Monument at Camp Blanding. At the invitation of Representative Yoho, South Korean Ambassador Cho Yoon-je, attended and presented the “Ambassador for Peace” medal to each Veteran. Brigadier General Chauncey acted as the Master of Ceremonies, offering introductory remarks and thanking attendees for braving the Florida heat.

When U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho started the process three years ago to bring a Department of Veterans Affairs clinic to Middleburg, there were just 4,500 veterans in the region enrolled in the program as well as skepticism about whether it was the right location for a new facility.
Yoho, R-Gainesville, said he had to assemble leaders from the business and veteran communities in Clay County to more than double that number to show a new primary care clinic would get sufficient use from the county’s roughly 29,000 veterans.

DOCTORS INLET – The Doctors Inlet Center on College Drive will be getting a new tenant soon.
After working on the issue for three years, Congressman Ted Yoho(R-3) of Gainesville announced Aug. 1 that a 10-year lease has been signed at 400 College Dr. to establish a Veteran Affairs Clinic at the site. Clay County has a population of approximately 29,000 veterans. Currently, there are approximately 11,000 veterans enrolled for care within the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System.
Orange Park, FL – Representative Ted Yoho announced Wednesday morning the award of a lease on a new VA clinic in Middleburg. The new primary care facility will be located at 400 College Drive in Middleburg. Services will include primary care, mental health services, lab draws and select specialty care via telehealth. Once online, the clinic is projected to attract approximately 4,500 new Veterans and serve more than 11,000 Veteran enrollees in the following years. The awarded lease has an initial contract for a 10-year lease.
Clay County, a growing area in Northeast Florida, will soon have a VA medicial clinic to help that area’s veterans.
