I know many Marylanders are concerned that this ruling will have serious, negative consequences for their health care. But rest assured it will not take effect next year. Next comes the appeals process, where I have every confidence that the Affordable Care Act will remain the law of the land.
The anniversary of Pearl Harbor reminds us that America has always been a nation that turns anger into action, and tragedy into triumph.
Today we celebrate that. We celebrate our tradition of resilience, and we honor our World World II veterans, without whom the world would be a much darker, more violent place. And finally, as we reflect on the horrors of WWII, we recommit ourselves to using our strength to defend those who are unable to defend themselves.
