Excited to announce a new $200,000 grant awarded to the Mountain Communities Fire Safe CNCL! During the Cranston Fire, I saw how important MCFSC’s work is to saving people’s homes. Proud to have supported their grant application for these critical funds, which will help MCFSC remove hazardous fuels from private property and educate local residents about fire safety.

Today I toured the Antelope Wells Port of Entry and Lordsburg Border Patrol Station in New Mexico, where 7-year-old Jakelin presented and required medical care before she died in El Paso. Serious improvements in facilities, equipment, communications infrastructure, and care standards are necessary to prevent another child’s death and to help respond to border agent emergencies.
ICYMI- A new $1.3 million grant will make sure seniors like Linda Reed aren’t stuck at home. Proud to have supported Independent Living Partnership’s grant application to support its volunteer driver program that expands our seniors’ access to transportation.
