Live now, I'm delivering my final speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate to share how proud I am to have had the opportunity to work hard and get so much done for North Dakota over the past 6 years—like lifting the 40-year-old ban on exporting oil, passing my bill to crack down on websites like Backpage that knowingly facilitate human trafficking, passing important legislation to combat opioid abuse, working to provide resources to address challenges in Indian Country, and mu...ch more. Every day, I’ve come to work in the U.S. Senate to fight for North Dakota and rural America, and But there’s still a lot more to do, and I’m going to keep working for our state to find solutions to keep our communities strong and safe. Thank you to North Dakota for enabling me to serve you for six years in the Senate. It has meant the world to me and I’ve worked hard for you every day to return the honor.

Some good news: Congress passed my bill to support Native American students so they can get a good education and my bill to help combat human trafficking by making sure doctors, nurses, and health professionals are trained to identify trafficking and report it. Both will soon be signed into law. And the Farm Bill — which looks very similar to the bipartisan Senate bill I helped write, negotiate, and pass — was signed into law today. This is what working and getting results up until the end looks like.
