Dianne Feinstein, co-chairman, will hold a hearing of the Caucus on International Narcotics Control to examine U.S. counternarcotics efforts in Colombia and how these efforts should be adapted in light of the staggering increases in coca production in the country.

WASHINGTON – Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)  today re-introduced the Saving Kids from Candy Flavored Drugs Act to increase the criminal penalties for marketing candy-flavored drugs to appeal to children.  Coincidentally, the issue of stronger penalties for distributing candy-flavored drugs is before the United States Sentencing Commission today. 

 

WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the leaders of the Caucus on International Narcotics Control, today announced the caucus will hold a hearing on the quota system used to manage controlled substances in medicine in light of a new report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) showing problems in the way the program is managed.

           

WASHINGTON – Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, today applauded the decision by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to move drugs containing hydrocodone, such as Vicodin and other painkillers, from schedule III to schedule II under the Controlled Substances Act.

 

WASHINGTON – Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Co-Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) announced a hearing on heroin and prescription drug abuse on Wednesday, May 14, at 2:30 p.m.
