WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci (OH-16) applauded the inclusion of his tax bills in the tax extenders package - The Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act - that provides permanent tax relief for hard-working Americans.

“I came to Washington as a businessman to protect hard-working American taxpayers and to continue to grow our economy.  As a CPA, I am pleased to see two of my commonsense bills, which relieve the burden on the taxpayers and safeguard them from political targeting, are included in the PATH Act.  While I am thrilled that core components from my bill that shields Americans from tax-related identity theft are included in the package, I am still working with stakeholders to curb this growing threat,” Renacci said.

Renacci bills which are included in the PATH Act:

  • Information Reporting Simplification Act of 2015 (H.R. 3856),
  • Prevent Targeting at IRS Act (H.R. 709),
  • and core components from Stolen Identity Refund Fraud Prevention Act of 2015 (H.R. 3832).

The PATH Act will cut taxes, grow our economy, and help American taxpayers keep more of their hard-earned dollars. The House will vote on this package tomorrow.

Renacci has represented the 16th district of Ohio since 2011 and sits on the Ways and Means Committee and Budget Committee.
