Toledo, Ohio — Last week in conjunction with a facility tour at American Posts and Universal Metals, Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH) hosted a roundtable with manufacturing partners and small business owners from across Ohio.

The discussion focused largely on the effects of the tax reform Renacci helped craft and how the new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada will address trade imbalances affecting American companies and manufacturers.

In addition to the roundtable discussion, Renacci had the opportunity to meet with the manufacturer’s employees and discuss the pressing issues affecting the area and all of Ohio.

“The discussions were extremely informative and provided fact-finding results for all participants. The tour, I believe, provided insight for the Congressman to take back to Washington and the question and answer discussion with our plant employees generated some interesting questions on the economy and social situations important in their lives,” said William Feniger, President of American Posts and Universal Metals.

“It’s vital for me to meet with local business owners so I can understand their viewpoint on how the laws we enact in Washington are affecting them. During my visit it was great hearing how Ohioans are already seeing significant benefits from our major tax reform,” said Renacci. “The discussion highlighted legitimate concerns regarding unfair and non-reciprocal trade practices, which is why I look forward to working with my colleagues in certifying the USMCA to address these issues. Overall I had a very positive visit, and I look forward to being able to return to American Posts and Universal Metals in the future.”
