Press Releases

Rep. Jim Renacci (OH-16) today released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 4435, the National Defense Authorization Act, the key mechanism for providing necessary funding to our military:

“Ensuring that the men and women in our military and their families receive the support that they need and deserve is one of my top priorities.

“It is critical that this year’s National Defense Authorization Act contains language explicitly rejecting the Obama Administration’s proposal to increase TRICARE fees. It’s wrong to balance the budget on the backs of our veterans who have already sacrificed so much. If we want to get serious about reducing spending in Washington, we need to start by encouraging the federal government to clean up its books and addressing the drivers of our debt.

“This legislation identifies a plan to equip our war fighters and ensures that they are compensated for selflessly protecting our great country and the freedoms that make each of us uniquely American. I was proud to support it, and I am proud to stand with the men and women of our Armed Forces.”
